Dear Santa

Dear Santa,

I think it must be close to the time you come to visit because my back yard now looks like the north pole.

This year, I have been a very good dog. I only ran away one time and I always, always sit when they ask me to. I've not chewed any shoes and only ate one toaster strudel that I was specifically instructed not to. But it was really, really tasty so I'm going to have to admit I don't regret that one.

But I digress. I really have been a very well-behaved dog. So, for Christmas this year I would like a new toy. As you can see, mine are in sad, sad shape. I've diligently gutted them and continue to toss them in the air and chase them. However, with no stuffing left to remove this has become a bit dull. I've even resorted to playing with my pink watering can on occasion.

In addition, I would also like some TREATS! Treats are my favorite!! I love them and will do anything, and I mean anything for a treat.
Which leads me to my final request... Please, Santa, please would you consider bringing me some humans who respect my dignity? I think this photo speaks to the gravity of my situation.

I promise to leave you some cookies and not chase the reindeer.

Sincerely,

Oggy the Doggy.

I love Christmastime!!!

Here I am with all my presents!!! Presents are my favorite!!

Woo! The First SNOW!!!

I went outside the other morning and it was SO COLD! I hopped off the deck and to my surprise my paws were greeted by cold, wet, SNOW!! I love SNOW! I love to play in it! Bury my toys in it! RUN IN IT! That was my FAVORITE DAY EVER!

My newest trick

I learned a new trick!

Get this! Everyday, someone leaves a toy for me in the DRIVEWAY! Everyday! So when my human goes to get the mail, I TEAR out in front of her, swipe the toy and take off! NO WAY is she getting a hold of this one! It's all mine.

You would never believe how fast I run with this bad boy, zig zagging back and forth across the street. But you'll have to take my word for it, as neither of my humans has bothered to catch it on camera. They are SO lazy. Actually, they probably just figure I'm running so fast they'd never catch the action.

I haven't actually figured out what to do with this toy when I'm done playing with it. They keep saying something about bringing it inside so they can read the sportspage, but that sort of seems like a waste of a good time, don't you think?

Something in the Air!

I'm not sure what's going on, but there is excitement in the air at our house! And for once it's not just from me!!! I'm not sure what they're talking about but they keep saying words like "Historic" and "First Woman" and "So Proud of Our Country" and, most exciting to me, "looks like Barack!"

Hmmm...They insisted on more photos, of course, wanting to document me on this historic day. Here I am.

The MONSTER in my house!

Well, on Monday the monster came back. The one that follows my mom around right before she disappears. She was walking to the kitchen and it was RIGHT ON HER TAIL! clunking along behind. As a very adept guard dog, I circled, growled, pounced and bit until I wounded it. Well, I think I wounded it but I can't be sure as she disappeared shortly after I attacked it.

I am so worried that she may be gone forever and that it really did get her this time.

Here are a few photos of my confrontation.

When I see you smile...

I can face the world. Oh, oooh. You know I can do anything...

...Bad English, anyone?

Wanderlust

My yard.

It’s where I spend my days. While you’re sitting at a desk, listening to the never-ending drone of corporate America, I am kicking back in the sun, tossing the Frisbee to myself or running around with a pink watering-can in my teeth.

Yes, a pink watering-can. Don’t judge.

Well, as you can imagine, I yearn for the world outside my gates. The neighbors, their sticky-fingered kids, the rabbits that streak across their yards…

So yesterday, I decided to go exploring. I fiddled with the latch until it swung open…and out I went. Wandering, observing, appreciating. Ok, running around like a chicken with my head cut off, but it was fun.

However, my humans failed to see my reasoning in this and they freaked out when they arrived home and found the gate swinging softly in the breeze. It may have had something to do with the fact that they couldn’t find me right away, but mostly I think they’re just kind of high strung.

As my dad started panicking and talking to neighbors, I moseyed up behind him, just to confirm there was nothing to worry about. I visited the other pups in the hood, peed on some trees, chased some bunnies and now I was back, ready to play with him.

You’d think I’d ditched him for a younger, richer master by the way was falling all over himself, yelling at me and hugging me at the same time. Sheesh. Can’t a boxer dog get a little wanderlust sometimes? Humans.

Puppy in Calgary

I HAVE A NEW FRIEND!

well, almost.

His name is Ralph and he's currently living outside of Calgary, AB. But in just a week he is going to go home and live with humans Shawna and Kevin! They're very excited about Ralph coming to live in their house.

I hear they have a hot tub on their deck...and since Ralph is a Portuguese Water Dog, I encourage him to hop in when they're not looking and SWIM and SPLASH!! hee. That's what I would do!! But then I'd probably end up sick because I MUST furiously gulp massive amounts of any water I'm near. Hopefully Ralph is smarter about that stuff than I am.

Here he is:

And here he is again!

Pretty Cute. No Boxer Dog, but pretty cute...especially his little white feet!

I hear he doesn't shed either. I think my mom would like me more if I didn't shed. I'm going to work on that.

Bloggy Break

Hi Friends! HI HI HI!
I know it's been a while since I've been on my bloggy! So Sorry!

I've been VERY sidetracked watching MSNBC! CNN! The DAILY SHOW!! Yee haw! Such a fun time for politics. I decided I better take an interest, since my parents spend SO much time glued to their squawk box.

Oh, and all I have left to say....

Is...
BOXERS FOR BARACK!!!

Playing Catch

My friend Nicholas came over the other night, and since he has nearly as much energy as I do, I figured him to be the perfect partner for playing fetch.

He got the balls together and we got started....

He took his time nailing down the proper stance...

then threw the ball...all of about 10 feet. Seriously?

This is puzzling. OK. Try again.

FORGET IT! Give it back to me..

Oh, well. I guess I'll humor him for a while.

My Friend in North Dakota

Hello! Oggy the Doggy here with some thoughts on my bloggy. Gee, I'm sure glad I'm not in Bejing, as I hear it's smoggy! Roof!

Turns out I have a friend in North Dakota who reads my blog!! Here he is! Isn't he SUCH a cutie??

I think that I'm his favorite dog of all time. Not sure if it's my cute face, sweet nature, healthy/shiny coat...or maybe it's my swimming tricks! Yep, gotta be the swimming.

Anyway, my friend, Isaac, came to Kansas to visit me this spring!! We had SO much fun running around the house, playing in the yard...not to mention he is the perfect height to kiss. So...I just smooched him whenever I got the chance! I just LOVE kids because they like to run around the house in circles just like I do.

So...HI ISAAC! Come back and play with me soon! Or...better yet...convince your mom to let you get a boxer of your own! Just make sure I'm still your favorite!

Oh, and good luck with starting Kindergarten!!! You will be SUCH a great kindergartener!!

Love and Miss You!!

Oggy

My BEST FRIEND CAESAR!!!!

Today I am writing about how VERY exciting it was to have my best friend Caesar stay with me for TWO WEEKS while his humans got married! (congrats J & S!!!)

So...he came to my house and we played and played and played until we were both so exhausted we couldn't move, then we did it some more!!! We have the best time and do everything together. Stand up. Sit down. Follow the humans around.

Wrastlin' time!

Can we have some treats now? Please? We're sitting!

Secrets!

If I distract you with a hug, I wonder if I can grab that ball...

Sleepy boys.

I miss him. Hope things are good in your hood, Caesar!!

treats and toys,
Oggy

Water Dog

Well, you wouldn't think it, since I'm a heavy-chested boxer dog, but I am one heck of a swimmer.

Here in KS, I don't get to do much swimming...

But...I recently returned from a vacation to Minnesota where I had the time of my life! I LEAP into the water...

...bound over the waves til I can't touch anymore...

... then paddle around.

You see, it's not the swimming I have trouble with, rather the breathing. Yep, tough with a tennis ball holding your mouth open. I was not bred for this.

However, I'm a bit of a pilot, steering in the vessels on Crow Lake as they head into shore. Check it out! Seriously, where would they be without me??

When the swimmin's over, I'm also a par-tay dog! Yee haw! Happy Birthday Stephie!

Ok, haha, hat, very cute.

Ok, ENOUGH with this nonsense.

Seriously, my humans are a bit out of touch. They even took me canoeing. You should've seen 'em fret when I started walking around! haha. Suckers.

Ciao!

Oggy the Doggy
